Renovations Part 1 :)

So you know you watch the DIY Network too much when... you were suppose to go to walmart, but instead you go to RC Willey and buy new laminate flooring for the house.. LOL. Yes we sure did. It's spring break for us, and so these last few days I've been watching TV all day long.  I've been watching those DIY shows, and shows about house renovations.  And since then my mind has been going crazy with ideas. One of the BIGGEST problems in the house that we've had is the blue.. ahem... yes BLUE carpet that ran through the living room and hall way.  No matter what decor we tried to put in the house, nothing could ever work with the carpet.  So we've been wanting to replace it.  I've looked at so many options, and decided to go the cheapest route.. and do laminate flooring. So we get home at 9:30pm last night and to my delight :) we start ripping up the blue carpet. 

Of course the kids had a blast running on the bare sub flooring, but I didn't have fun pulling all those staples up. :/ Well worth it though.

After removing what seemed like millions of staples, we cleaned the floor then early this morning we went home depot to get some supplies.  We will probably have the floor in by the end of the day (Yayy!!) But so far we have the underlay down! Well most of it... lol.

So that's the progress of our living room/hall way renovation right now.  I'm excited to finally update these floors.  I'm pretty sure this blue carpet was here when my family lived in this house.. oh at least ten years ago. lol. So it was much needed!
