36 Weeks & Braxton Hicks

35 Weeks Pregnant.. Belly Bump
So tomorrow I'm officially 36 weeks pregnant! I still can't believe that I'm ALMOST there, but I'm very very excited. At my last appointment (last Tuesday) my midwife measured my belly, and confirmed that baby's head down and feels about 6 lbs right now to her. I also gained 2 pounds, making it a total of 9 pounds this pregnancy. I had talked with my midwife about my weight gain not really sure if it was something to be concerned about or not. I mean I know technically (according to US/palagni standards) I'm obese lol but I've never gained such little weight. My last two pregnancies I would gain somewhere between 20-30 pounds, but she assured me that I was ok and because I actually am "obese" (no she didnt say that to me lol) I'm not suppose to gain as much and am on track for my pregnancy as far as weight gain. So yay for that, I guess (except the obese part lol).

This pregnancy has treated me very well, and I'm glad I've still been able to have the energy and stamina to keep up with my kids and work. Last week Friday I finally went over to seven peaks (salt lake city) to take my kids. The waterpark is across the street from my in-laws house, yet I've never been there. So Friday I met up with my sister in law and her little family and we had a blast. My kids LOVED it! This was their first time going to an actual waterpark so I was glad to be able to take them. Fehi had to work (boo) but he made sure to stress the importance of keeping his kids safe lol. He was so worried about them, about us, and the fact that Im pregnant and taking our kids to the waterpark. He asked me to buy them floaties for their arms and other stuff as well. I thought it was so cute how he was concerned, and it's understandable lol so I did what he asked and got them floaties for their arms and swim shoes so they wouldn't slip or fall on anything, and then when we got there I put life jackets on them as well, so I was pretty confident that they would be ok. We had TONS of fun and my belly and back was loving the water as well. :)

We stayed there for like 5 hours and afterwards we picked up Fehi from work. I was so tired and had to sleep for work the next morning and so I tried to sleep but couldn't. Around 1 in the morning I started getting those bloody Braxton hicks contractions (lol) and they lasted until 6 in the morning! They weren't super painful or anything, but more so irritating because I knew I had to get some kind of rest before getting up at 330am to get ready for work at 430am. By 230am I was even more irritated and even more tired because they didn't go away. Those Braxton hicks contractions were coming what seemed like every 4-5 minutes and they were starting to hurt my back. So around 230am Fehi told me I should call in sick to work and so I decided to do that. And I'm glad I did because I didnt get any kind of sleep and I would'nt have been able to function at work.

So finally at 6am I knocked out and I didn't feel anything else the rest of the day. Then at night (last night) they started to come back again. I was hoping they'd die down, and they did (thank goodness) and I was able to get a good maybe 3 hours of uninterrupted sleep (thanks to my hubby). So this morning at work I was ok, but I'm still 36 weeks pregnant and right now with summer travel it's getting pretty busy. For the last 2 weeks they have been putting me at Kiosk Assist, which works out for me because I'm not lifting as much bags, but since numbers have been big and they need more help at baggage drop, they've been sticking me there this week. And baggage drop is a killer (pregnant or not) because your tagging and lifting bags nonstop. I've been debating on leaving on my maternity leave early and I would always say that I'd just work until I give birth, but I decided to just talk to my midwife and ask for a note to excuse me from work. I talked to my Redcoat about it as well and she was cool about it and said I needed to take care of myself and baby first and that Delta will always be there. She said its gonna be busy with summer travel picking up and that they have to have more people at baggage drop because of it. And though they probably would rather I not be a baggage drop, they can't help it because they need the people there... And I totally understand that, and don't mind it. But it does take a toll on my body, especially when I don't get good rest. And last night was actually considered good rest lol.

So I'm pretty happy with the decision to go on my leave early. I just hope that my midwife agrees. I think it'll be good as well to be able to have one on one time with two little ones before the baby comes and takes most of my attention away from them. And it'll be nice to NOT have to wake up at 3 in the morning, and also not get weird looks when the passenger sees a pregnant women lifting their 50 pound bags lol. So wish me luck! :)

33 Weeks!

I'm 33 weeks! And so READY to pop. Seriously lol.

Sorry lighting is bad in the pic, but at least u see the baby bump :)

 At 33 weeks:

- I've gained 2 pounds since my last appointment (4 weeks ago), which means only a total of 7 pounds this pregnancy.
- Tummy is measuring correctly, it's where it should be.
- I'm still a CLEAN freak, I always feel the need to clean my house and keep it clean (not a bad thing right?)
- Baby boy still moves A LOT! I swear, he dances in my belly!
- Appetite has definitely decreased, I seem to snack rather than eat a full meal... I guess I just don't like to eat as much, it may be the lack of space for my stomach to expand lol, but on top of that I rather not deal with the heartburn and running to the bathroom all the time (cause I seriously have to use the bathroom once I start eating... I know totally weird lol).
- Soda cravings have gone dramatically down... and my wanting to chew ice has gone up (go figure! lol).

Overall, this pregnancy has been going pretty well, but I'm just ready to give birth. lol. I don't want to jinx myself (so no baby you're not allowed to come before 37 weeks), but I keep telling my self that maybe I only have 3 to 4 more weeks rather than 7 weeks left. lol. With my last two I gave birth early, Moe was 2 weeks early, and Kesaia was a week early... so I'm hoping that this pregnancy will follow in the same fashion.  I still have a lot to do before baby comes though, I have to go through all baby moe's old baby clothes, wash them and leave em out for baby. I go back to work tomorrow morning (boo!) but just a few more weeks and I'll be off from work as well.  I just hope I'm able to handle working with these last few weeks of my pregnancy. Just 4-5 more weeks (I hope! lol).

Potty Training Day 2 (Again)

So now that I'm on my PTO weeks until the 24th of this month, I decided it would be a good time to finally tackle potty training with Moe.  I'll be home with him 24/7 so mind as well try to get it over and done with sooner than later.  I've been looking up online any tips or helps with potty training.. and the number one thing they say is to make sure he is ready.  Well, I hope Moe is... cause we're doing it no matter what. lol. I bought him his first pairs of big boy undies and we did a trial run yesterday.  I got him a new seat for the toilet, and he was happy to go to the bathroom and sit on the toilet, but he would never actually GO in the toilet.  After I'd set him on the toilet for a few minutes he wouldn't do a thing, then he'd leave but then a few seconds later he's had an accident on the floor.  And that's basically how it's been like all day yesterday and today.  Yesterday I gave up at night, and just stuck a diaper on him (I know... I know).  The other thing they say is to have patience... ahem... That's a problem. lol. Being 31 weeks pregnant, and trying to potty train ugh yeah.. it's going to be hard.

I just hope that I can find a way for him to get it.  I keep questioning whether he's actually ready for it, and whether I'm potty training him because he's ready or because the world says he should be potty trained by now, or at least wanting to.  I'm kind of at the end of my rope (for today) because he's only had accidents today and no wins (in the toilet)... shoot, we haven't even gotten to the flushing part lol.  So hopefully I can do better, we can do better... he's still in his big boy undies and I'm going to gather my last bits and pieces of my patience for today and try harder. Wish me luck, again. :)

I Hate Goodbyes!

We just said goodbye to my sister and her bf Mike :( It was so nice having them here, I just wish they could stay a little longer, but Mike has a rugby game in Vegas tomorrow morning, so on they go to endure that long drive to Vegas.  I'm not all for the seven's tournament in Vegas that's happening this weekend, but I wouldn't mind going just to spend time with my sister and them before they actually leave back to Hawaii.  But that's still in the works, so we'll just have to see on that.  All-in-all I'm glad they were here, and we tried to do as much as we could while they were here.

Yesterday we had an awesome dinner with our dad's side of the family in Orem.  I haven't seen them since October, so it was nice to go over, cook food and talk/catch up for a little bit.  We had YUMMY food.. pupu chicken, beef and broccoli, garlic shrimp, rice, salad, and rolls.  Not to mention the desserts, strawberry cream cheese (like cheesecake) dessert, and a coconut cake. I was very full, and baby and I were content, very content. lol :)

Today we didn't do much but chill at home, and before they left my sister wanted to get toys for the kids, so we went to Ross where she got Moe another iron man, to add to his collection, lol... Kesaia got a toy too, but wanted an iron man, and also got a pop up toy story tent for them to play in.  My kids are always being spoiled by their aunt, and I'm forever grateful for her and her love towards my kids.

I think I'll have to stop this post now, before my pregnancy emotions get the best of me, and I start crying. lol. Until next time! :)

"Joy through Affliction..."

So in Sunday School we had a lesson, and we looked at a scripture in James that talked about finding joy through afflictions.  Our teacher asked us what we do when we find ourselves in an obstacle, and he brought up an example of his kids.  He explained how he has 6 kids, and raising them brought some "afflictions" but it's how you respond to it, your attitude towards the affliction that counts, having patience also.  He explained how if his kids spilled milk on the couch, bed, floor, whatever, he would remember that it's ok just grab something, help them clean it up and it's like brand new... "joy through affliction."

So after this lesson, we've been trying to take a new look on things, especially when dealing with our children; trying to be more patient with them.  This morning as my husband dropped me off at work, he was talking about how tired he was (he hadn't slept at all Sunday, then he worked his grave shift and now he had to watch the kids till I get home around noon) so he was debating whether he would just park the car at home, leave the heater on and sleep in the car, since the kids were already asleep in their carseats.  I mentioned to him, to just go home and put them in the room with him, and lock it.  So on to work I go, I call him around 10:45a.m. to let him know to be on his way to pick me up, and he tells me he just woke up not too long ago and the kids made a mess.  I had to question him, and I said.. "you mean, you've been sleeping this whole time since I've been at work??" and he just laughed and said "Yeah babe.. and the kids made a mess.. but babe remember joy through affliction." LOL. I  couldn't help but laugh, so I just said "Ok, just be on your way, and I'll look at it when I get home."

When he pulls up to pick me up, I had to fix Kesaia's belt on her carseat, so I grab her and he tells me she's wet. I feel her clothes and it's damp, and she has black marks on her face and hands, as well as toilet paper pieces in her hair. LOL. I look across to baby moe, he's only in his diaper and has black marks on his body, as well as blue smeared marks. I just start to laugh and I tell Fehi, ok you could've put some warms clothes on him (it's cold hello) and he says well, I wanted you to see what is on him. OH and he had pieces of toilet paper in his hair as well. LOL.

So we're practicing "joy through affliction" and we're just really laughing about it all the way home.  As soon as we get home, I notice there's blue marks all over our dark brown couches, I guess they got into my drawer with my makeup and such (they played with the blue eyeshadow).  And then I see a tube of mascara open on the floor, which explains the black marks on them. Then the bathroom... oh the bathroom.. why does it have to be their favorite place to play in??  Correction: why does the TOILET have to be their favorite place to play in??  They had thrown the whole roll of toilet paper in the toilet (our last one too lol), as well as one of those big sponges, our brush, comb, and I think our toothbrush (which is now in the trash).  Then I notice baby moe's pajamas in the tub, he took it off after wetting it by playing with the toilet. LOL.

My kids crack me up, there's NEVER a dull moment with them. Though they may do some crazy things, we LOVE them and appreciate their fun loving little bodies.  :)

I think I need one of these hanging on the door of my house before people walk in LOL

Kesaia 18 month Check-Up

Yesterday Kesaia had an appointment with Dr. Vierra for her 18 month check up (though she's 19 months now).  Her height seems to be fine, however her Dr. was concerned for her weight.  She's on 19 lbs 10 oz. and according to their ''charts'' she's too skinny.  All I could think of was my sisters.  I explained that in my family, I'm the fattest one. LOL. And that's my sisters are the same way, they eat but don't gain.  She asked if Kesaia eats her meals, and I assured her she does eat (as in we DO feed her lol) and sometimes she can eat more than her brother.  She gave me a list of ways to help up her calories, and let me tell you it shocked me (I'll explain later).  And because we were all just getting over a cold, she was a little concerned cause she didn't sound too good, and she saw that she had an ear infection.  She gave some albuterol (with the nebulizer) and she was happy to hear it clear it up rather quickly, and there was no pneumonia (thank goodness).  So now we're faced with congestion, ear infection, and her being too skinny.

Dr. Vierra then went on to discuss ear tubes.  Baby Moe had to have ear tubes put in because he just had a lot of ear infections, and it seemed as if he couldn't ever drain that liquid out. He's had the tubes in since April and has not had one ear infection since then, and that's what Dr. Vierra is thinking of doing for Kesaia.  She had a quite a few ear infections, or maybe just one that didn't go away, earlier this year.  And now she has another one, so she suspects that maybe she's been dealing with one infection after another, that she's just not able to gain weight.  We ended up drawing some blood, to run some tests, and then she sent us off to get some meds for ear infection and to clear her lungs. Now back to that list of foods that can help increase calorie intake.  To me, Kesaia is a lot skinnier than most 1 year olds, however, she doesn't lack in anything else.  She's really smart. At the appointment Kesaia kept talking to me asking for things, and Dr. Vierra said "wow, she is really good talking, she really pronounces words nicely" and I agreed, then she said "you must be reading a lot of books to her..." lol.  Of course I agreed, but in my mind I was like "no, she's just really smart and picks up really quickly what we teach her" lol.
She can definitely fatten up on ice-cream! LOL

Anyhow, back to that list. At first I started reading it, and it talked about putting vegetable oil in their food, or using milk or creams instead of water (like in soups), or having a lot of dipping sauces for them, and even ice-cream! Okay, they should've warned me that this list wasn't going to be healthy ways, it was going to be fattening ways (of course, hello we're trying to increase calories!) lol.  I was just shocked at all the foods they say you should feed them, because in the end when she's obese, they'll say she shouldn't eat any of those foods. Lol, isn't that ironic! Anywayz, we just decided we'd make more of an effort to make sure she's eating more, and actually sitting there with her while she takes her time to eat.

Oh the motherly duties (and worries) it NEVER ends! lol

**Other than that, our family is doing great. Fehi and I are trying to finish out this semester, and plan our thanksgiving! :)

Giving Thanks: Day 2 (and 1.. lol)

Today is the 2nd of November, and I decided that every day I would write something on the blog that I'm grateful for.  I know everyone does this, or a lot of people do, but I've actually never taken the time to do this.  So here we go! (btw, I'm catching up from yesterday also, so this will be day 1 & 2) :)

DAY 1:  I'm grateful for my eternal companion--- Fatafehi Fakana'ana'a Latu

We've known each other for 5 years (this month), but have been together for 4 years, and married for 3.  He's been my constant supporter, and comforter.  He knows me in and out, and brings out the best in me. He's truly someone that has and always inspires me to do better.  He has such a sweet spirit, and huge heart.  He loves continually, and gives often.  He is my eternity, and I love him soo much! :)

Day 2: I'm grateful for my two very energetic, beautiful children!--
Moeakiola Fisilau Latu &
Kesaia 'Atukaima'u Paea He'imoana Lokomaika'inani Latu

Moe is 2 years old and Kesaia is 1 years old.  They keep me VERY VERY VERY busy! But I would not have it any other way.  They bring so much laughter and joy to our home, and bring special spirit that only children can bring.  I love you Moe and Kesaia, and I hope that one day when you read this you will know that your Mom & Dad loves you soooo much! :)

Family Date Night (x2) :)

So this past week I kept telling Fehi about how we should go to this place called Gardner Village in West Jordan, where they have a witchfest going on.  I had heard about it (or read about it) from a friend's blog (thanks crystal h.!) and so I was very eager to go.  We planned to go on Tuesday, but I forgot we had a class in the evening.  So then we planned for Wednesday but something came up and Thursday we couldn't go either cause we had a class.  So finally we went on Friday night.  :) We've never been there before, but we LOVED it! The kids had fallen asleep on the ride there, and when my kids just wake up (especially from only napping for 5 minutes) they are a little (understatement lol) cranky, so we did one round around the place looked at everything to get them warmed up a little... then as soon as they saw the little ponies they got all excited and jumped out and stood and watched them.

They LOOOVE horses.. It must be because they LOOOVE toy story (the horse in toy story 2 and 3)
So after they had their round of "warm up" we went back to the main area and they ran loose! They got all excited and started looking at everything and jumping up and down! And since Moe's a two year old boy, he went super crazy and hyper! :)  Here's more pictures from Friday night:

Here they were still "getting in" to it so they weren't too happy lol
Daddy and kids :)
Daddy and his son
It was suppose to be a family pic but she cute kesaia off.. she was in the stroller by our legs
Me and my lil loves.. they were scared of the witch behind me lol
Merry go round of witches
a BIG witch on the wall :)
the swimming witch lol
Moe kept yelling "horsy!" and then we would ask him to say bye to the horsy and he'd yell "NO!" lol
Then little miss finally got out the stroller and yelled out "horsy!" too :)
I LOVE MY MAN!!!
He seriously brings such a sweet spirit to our family!
I LOVE being in LOVE with him! :)
They had a little area under this tree full of lights..
Kesaia tripped over her boots that STILL don't fit her feet
even a year later lol so she crawled for a little bit...
The beautiful lights :)
Another one of the witches
Daddy and his kids
Me and my princess, she was happy to hold the pumpkin :)
Just a fun pix
She's such a daddy's little girl :)

We spent a good hour there just letting the kids run wild, they didn't even want to go home, but we bribed them with ice-cream from McDonalds lol, did I mention my kids LOOOVE ice-cream, especially Kesaia! :)

She ate two kiddie cones! :)
Family Date Night #2 (Saturday October 29, 2011)

All week we had a flier posted on our fridge about a community Trunk-O-Treat with dinner and games to follow.  So I had planned for us to attend that.  I worked in the morning, then came home and we cleaned up a bit then we got ready to go to the party.  I told Fehi that he would have to dress up because I was going to dress up with the kids, I didn't want him feeling left out ;) lol... So we ended up buying him a $3 mask from Halloween City. He was suppose to be like one of the jabbawockeez (maybe if he wore a hoodie he would've looked morel like them) but he ended up looking more like Jason (Michael Meyers) because a lot of the kids were either scared of him or like "Are you suppose to be Jason???!?!?" lol.

It was fun though, we went around with the kids and once again they fell asleep on our 2 minute drive up to the chapel (right up the road from our house) so it took them a little bit to get into it.  But once they saw they were getting candy, they were set! Kesaia would NOT let go of her pumpkin full of goodies, even though I know it was getting a little heavy for her.  After we did a round of trunk-o-treat they invited everyone to go into the cultural hall for dinner and games, but we decided to leave and go back to Gardner Village! lol. Yeah, we really did go back, just cause we wanted to :), but this time we were in costume. Here's some pics from last night:

Moe eating his treats after the trunk-o-treat
Kesaia enjoying her treats as well
Kids in their costume and the mummy
Me and the kids :)
"Jason", "Iron Man" (yes he's in a spider man costume but he thinks it's iron man lol), and the two witches!
Halloween 2011! The Latu Family! ;)
Lol @ Moe.  I told him to do "iron man" and this was his pose..
Kesaia on the other was not even trying to cooperate with me lol

Me and the little witch who was being a real life witch this night lol
He LOVED seeing all the pumpkins and would yell every time he saw one
The hula-hooping witch
Kids watching the horses again.
We asked moe if he wanted to "sit down" on the horse and he said "Yeah"
So we let them watch them a little bit more
Then we went on the "ride-to-a-wtich"
They had a trailer hooked to a tractor with haystacks to sit on..
They took us to another area with the "live" witches...
Moe probably had more fun playing with the rocks lol
Kesaia wanted to run free too, she was tired of pictures lol
Us having fun, I think this is the first year ever,
since we've been together,
that we dressed up for halloween
Yeah the kids didn't want to cooperate in the pic lol
Leaving the "live" witches..
(to be honest it wasn't worth our $15,
it wasn't as big or fun as I thought the other "free" area was...
If they extended the haystack ride and
added things to it I would've considered
that money well spent.. lol)
Then we decided we would let Moe ride the pony... and he LOVED it!
He held on tight and kept going round and round
Then Kesaia wanted to ride as well,
but we just let her walk with daddy and get closer to them.

Our weekend was amazing, and we had a lot of fun.  Tomorrow (Halloween) I just hope it'll be warm enough for our kids, and I can't wait to take them out and get more candies! I don't know if we'll stay home to pass out treats, but I'll leave a bowl of candy out on the step for them to come and pick. Our little neighborhood is small, so I don't think we'll have too many kids.  I'll probably make some pumpkin rolls to take in the morning for my co-workers (if I don't get lazy) and then make some goody bags for the little nieces and nephews tomorrow! :)

Last Weekend!

As if this post wasn't long enough already, lol, I just wanted to add in pics from last week and weekend.  It was my best friend's little sister's wedding (Lote Livai now "Afu") and my nieces 5th birthday.  Here are the pics:

Halloween Themed Bridal Shower (10/19/11)

I took Kesaia with me, and the boys (Fehi&Moe) went to the East game.
She was a little mermaid (got her costume from savers!)
The bride LOVES halloween and SWEETS!
There was more sweets than there was food lol. for real! :)
All the treats were halloween themed as well,
except for the banana bread (what I brought) lol
EYE BALLS! (oreo truffles.. yum! yum!)
The drinks.. and that white block in the middle of the drinks was dry ice...
worked well in the beginning for making it look foggy...
(even though you can't see it in this pic)
Uila, Jean, Lee & Hoks :)
Lote surprised! :)
The toilet paper wedding dresses! :)
Talk about going the extra mile! lol. This dress won the contest! lol
